Schwantes, Carolyn Mae (Marriage - 19 Apr. 1951)

Miss Carolyn Mae Schwantes, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Emil Schwantes, Spencer, and Marvin William Hopfensperger, Junction City, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wilmer Hopfensperger of Spencer exchanged nuptial vows during a ceremony performed at 3:30 p.m. Thursday in St. John’s Lutheran Church, Spencer. The Rev. Randolph Mueller was the officiating clergyman.

The bride was attired in a light gray wool gabardine suit with green accessories. A corsage of red roses and yellow carnations was pinned at her shoulder.

Miss Janice Hopfensperger, the groom’s sister, was the maid of honor. Her suit of gray gabardine with pink accessories was accented by a corsage of of red roses and white carnations.

Roger Schwantes, brother of the bride, was best man.

Ushering for the ceremony were Gerald Schwantes, another brother of the bride, and James Krasselt.

The couple greeted relatives and friends at a reception for ?5 guests at the home of the bride’s parents.

The bride’s mother wore a light pink dress with navy accessories while the groom’s mother was attired in an aqua dress with brown accessories. Both wore corsages of carnations.

The bride received her education in Spencer while the groom went to the high school in Junction City. He is employed at a paper manufacturing plant in Wisconsin Rapids.

When the newlyweds return from a wedding trip to Milwaukee and Chicago they will reside in Junction City.

Out-of-town guests included Mrs. Mildred Daughty, Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Struck, Wisconsin Rapids; Roger Schwantes, and Betty Johnasen, Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. Peter Hppfensperger, Junction City; Mr. and Mrs. Otto Manthe, Unity; Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Schwantes and family, Vivian Cook and Dorothy Haslow, of Loyal.
